Auxiliary Newsletter

Hello Ladies. 

It was nice to see you at the installation of officers.  I enjoyed having it at Grady’s clean up was a breeze.  Our next meeting will be August 16th. We usually do not have meetings in the summer but since we meet on the same night the guys do we thought each meeting we would do something different.

At the June meeting Anita Benton came and we did Stamp it up and made cards. The July meeting was installation of officers.  Our officers for this year are

President, Bea Asfeld, Vice President, Hope Gonzales, Treasurer, Sonja Ogden, Secretary, Terry Cordero, Chaplin, Elena Childs.  Telephone Committee, Maricela Tovar and Celina Gomez.  The phone committee will be calling to let you know what we are doing in August, if you are not home and they leave a message please call them and let them know you received their call.  

At the meeting we discussed getting a Knights of Columbus directory together.  We would like you and your spouse’s names, dates of birth, anniversary date, occupation, email address home phone number and cell phone numbers, names of children and ages.  Our hope is to get a directory with the couple’s picture.  So many times

I recognize a face but name but forget the name, or Glenn will be talking about someone and I can’t picture who they are.  So please forward the information to Bill Tyler and we will set date(s) to have the couple pictures taken. Or you can take one or send one you have and email or snail mail it to Bill. We would like to get this done as soon as possible. If you have moved away please send a picture and all your information.  

Saturday, July 28th Susie Scott, Elena Childs and I saw the musical Menopause.  Before the afternoon matinee had lunch at Madhatters Tea Room downtown. If you have never been there and you like to try new restaurants I highly recommend it.   They also have High Tea for any of you who like to pamper yourselves and indulge. We had a wonderful time at the musical, it was funny and I think all three of us whole heartedly highly recommend you see it. I heard they have extended it till August 12th.  

Mark your calendars now for September 20th our first official meeting of the New Year. If you are new or have never been involved or have not been attending I feel it shows our husbands we support all they do for the Church and Community.   Before every meeting at 6:45 there is communion service in the Church.  I encourage the men as well as the ladies to attend. It is a nice way to do something special together.  If you are not married it is a nice to take a few minutes to unwind and focus on God. Our days are so busy and time fly’s bye, but remember we need to put God first. We will be meeting in one of the portables look in the bulletin the Sunday before the meeting and it will tell you which portable we will be in.  We hope this will enable anyone who is unable to climb the stairs to be able to attend. 

Thank you to everyone who went above and beyond this last year in everything we did.  Our bake sales would not have been so successful if we had not had ladies volunteer to stay from beginning to end.  I know everyone can not do that but please make sure you sign up at the next meeting to work the bake sale booth.  It is so important to have the help. Even if you were unable to attend the month before meeting when the telephone committee calls they will be asking what time you can work.  It is important to have someone who can set up and someone who can stay and work after the 12:30 mass.  After the 10:30 mass it seems we have a lot of volunteers.  

Remember our verse this year.  Proverbs 16: 3.  “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and all your Plans will Succeed”.
